How to submit your music to Spotify playlists for free

  1. Choose your genre. Explore our electronic music Spotify playlists for ambient, downtempo, IDM, experimental, house, EDM, techno, glitch, synthwave and synthpop.
  2. Apply for an invitation. Send your free artist application with your artist or project name, email, Spotify artist profile, Spotify track link and suitable genre. A short introduction is optional.
  3. If invited, connect Last.fm and participate. Eligible listening earns SAP. Complete a full Monday–Sunday week with at least 50 Weekly SAP to become a STAR and earn your first track slot.
  4. Request placement. An active STAR with available capacity can submit an Add a Track request. Requests are processed manually; applying does not place a song on Spotify immediately.

Is Spotify playlist submission free on SUBMIT.ZONE? Yes: there is no application or participation fee. Membership requires an invitation, Last.fm and participation in the listening community. An application does not guarantee an invitation, playlist placement or a number of streams. Read the playlist submission rules and FAQ before applying.

WHAT SUBMIT.ZONE IS:

SUBMIT.ZONE is a curated community built around one simple idea: artists support artists. Members earn playlist capacity through genuine listening — not by paying and not by gaming the system.

An invited artist joins as a Member, shown publicly as a VISITOR. Complete one full Monday–Sunday week with at least 50 Weekly SAP to become a STAR. STAR status is permanent, while active status and track capacity are recalculated from each completed week.

SAP stands for SUBMIT.ZONE ACTIVITY POINTS. SUBMIT.ZONE reads scrobbles reported by Last.fm. Last.fm normally scrobbles a track after half of it has played or after four minutes, whichever comes first. A scrobble can earn SAP only when it matches exactly one published, registered SUBMIT.ZONE track and the track is not your own.

Listening to another member’s eligible track can earn 1 SAP, up to five awarded plays of the same track per day. Listening to your own tracks never earns SAP.

Your finalized Weekly SAP sets your track capacity for the following week. For example, 50–99 Weekly SAP gives a capacity of one track, while 200–299 Weekly SAP gives a capacity of three tracks.

If your capacity falls below the number of your currently placed tracks, SUBMIT.ZONE creates removal tasks for the administrator. The corresponding Spotify playlists and SUBMIT.ZONE records are updated after those tasks are completed manually. Your Lifetime SAP and permanent STAR status are not removed, and you can earn capacity again in a later week.

Weekly SAP (SUBMIT.ZONE ACTIVITY POINTS) → Playlist Capacity

At 900+ finalized Weekly SAP, your track capacity is 10+: you may have up to 15–20 tracks accepted, but acceptance is not guaranteed. Capacity is set after the previous complete Monday–Sunday week is finalized. A later completed week below 900 returns you to the corresponding finite limit.

Formula: Finalized Weekly SAP from the previous Monday–Sunday week → track capacity for the current week.

OUR SOUND:

HOW IT WORKS:

  1. Listen — Explore the official SUBMIT.ZONE PLAYLISTS and connect Spotify Scrobbling through Last.fm.
  2. Earn SAP — Eligible Last.fm scrobbles that match exactly one published, registered SUBMIT.ZONE track can earn SAP under the daily limits.
  3. Become a STAR — Complete one full Monday–Sunday week with at least 50 Weekly SAP.
  4. Request a track change — A STAR with the required capacity can submit an Add or Exchange request. A request is validated and queued for manual processing; it does not change Spotify immediately.
  5. Grow together — Build Lifetime SAP, support other artists and earn weekly capacity through genuine listening.

We’re intentionally curated. We’re not chasing size — we’re chasing the right fit.

A CLOSED, INVITATION-ONLY PLATFORM

SUBMIT.ZONE does not offer open registration. Artists are reviewed for musical fit before a private invitation may be issued. This keeps the community focused and the playlists coherent. An application does not guarantee an invitation.
